Why do I attract crazies and only crazies? Do I have a large sign on my forehead that says "Hey weirdos! I'm single" Take for examle tonight at my mom's law firm party at Freestone Park. We ate dinner and then went over to the little train ride to take Mabel and Oliver on it. Grampa sat next to Oliver, Nana sat next to Mabel, Mike and Steph sat next to each other, and I sat next to Joe. I could tell right off that Joe was a little special (literally) so I thought I would be nice a hold a conversation with him... first mistake... especially after the first words out of his mouth were "I'm single, my name is Joe". After introducing ourselves and about 2 minutes of small talk Joe told me he had a crush on me, followed by many compliments, and an offer to buy me a new phone. Then he asked for my phone number; I knew that I didn't want to give him my cell number so I made my second mistake of the night of giving him our house number. A thought went through my head to give him the rejection hotline but that would just be too wrong. I left to do "homework" as soon as the train ride ended, and not even an hour after we got home Joe was calling. I made my dad lie to Joe and tell him that I wasn't home. I guess I'm lucky that I lead a fairly busy life and that as soon as school is over and I would normally have more free time, I leave for Hawaii... only 2 and a half weeks by the way.
Do crazies live in Hawaii too?

You are so lucky that you are going to Hawaii...and smart to not give your cell # to someone who you don't want calling you while on a tropical island...I'm sure you'll attract some crazies, given your history with them and all. In fact, you should give the Hawaiin crazies your home phone...I bet your parents would like that.
i can't believe he actually called you! ok, maybe i can believe it, since he seemed pretty smitten with you. you need to learn how to lie in those types of situations. 1, say you have a boyfriend. 2, don't give out your real number. lies like that are totally acceptable. it's a good thing your mom didn't tell him where you live when he said he wanted to visit you. yikes!
BOY: "Can I have your number?"
CATHY: "No."
Like that.
We were stuck on a train and I still had to sit next to him for another 4 minutes. He's called the house 5 times already today. I told mom and dad to tell him that I moved to Hawaii for good next week.
I like what Abbie said. Sometimes you just have to be straight up like that. "no". or something else like "ya know... I'm just not interested, but thanks though..." things like that are always good. But really though, could you attract any more wierd guys please? I'm going to write a book about them. you've got... "My mom got my name out of a baby book" guy and the "dollar bill date" guy and now this guy... and I know i'm missing about ten others. Good luck with that. Hope you meet Sanka in Hawaii!!! Give him your number please!!! haha!
I am one of those girls that just can't say no to dates but after prepping myself, I have gotten good at it. This guy that I see randomly before one of my classes asked me out, I told him I straight up wasn't interested and he straight up appreciated me not wasting his time. I feel bad...
But not TOO bad haha.
I tend to attract crazies too.
As inconvenient as attracting crazies may be in your life, it sure brings a smile to my day! Thanks.
